John Foxx

Picked up The Garden and Cathedral Oceans from John Foxx.

Foxx was the originating member of the seminal Ultravox in the late 70’s/early 80’s who helped to break ground on the lush pop euro-romanticism that came to define the scene and still reverberates within pop music to this day. Foxx’s pop sensibilities later morphed into the experimental audio/visual art project Cathedral Oceans which spawned 3 editions along with a book of 38 of John’s photos. Foxx is of course little known to the mainstream and it’s just as well. It makes appreciating his music and art all the more special.
